Assistant Principal

Hello, and welcome to my page.  I am one of three assistant principals here at Soddy Daisy High School, and am excited for the 2017-18 school year to start.  I have served as assistant principal at East Hamilton School two years and Hunter Middle School one year before being moved here in June of 2016.  This year I will be serving as the 9th grade administrator.

I am a wife and mother of three children.  My husband, Brad Cox, is from Lafayette, Georgia, and is recently part-time retired.  We live in Lafayette on a farm with about 36 acres, but thank goodness, we are  not a working farm--no animals to take care of.  The extent of our animals are about 6 deer and 10 turkey that I get to see every morning and evening.  I do enjoy being on the tractor on the weekends mowing a 10-acre field directly in front of my house and listening to music with my headphones in. My children all live in Chattanooga.  The oldest, Matt, is an environmental engineer from Georgia Tech working at Miller Industries in Ooltewah, and the other two, Kaitlyn is a legal secretary at The Minor Firm, a law firm in Dalton, GA, and Zach works at Carrabba's in Chattanooga.  They are all in their early to mid twenties.  My husband is a die hard Georgia Bulldogs fan with a street sign on our fence at the front of our drive that says "Bulldog Lane."  However, our house is split during College Football season, because I am a Bama fan.  Roll Tide!!!

I really love school, and being an administrator is certainly who I am naturally, but I do try to have a life outside of school, as well.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, shopping and lying by my friend's pool or on a beach somewhere.  My favorite thing to do after school is go to the gym and meet my husband to workout.  On the weekends, I try to meet my kids for lunch and spend some time with friends and family.  I have two brothers and two sisters, all of whom live far away, so we don't see each other very often.

I am excited to begin a new year at Soddy Daisy.  We have worked hard this summer to design a year built around teamwork and collaboration, with several days scheduled to celebrate being a Trojan and having school pride.  I can't wait to see the great success at Soddy Daisy High School this year!

Feel free to come see me.  My door is always open, and I am in the first floor of the 9th Grade Academy wing.  I'd love to meet you!
