Bio

I have been a school librarian for seventeen years, and I truly enjoy being able to encourage a love of reading and learning!  Every day in the media center is different, and I have the privileged position of being able to work with teachers across all subjects and teens of all ages.

In addition to my work in Tennessee, I have worked in schools in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.  (I can offer all sorts of tips on moving to a new place!)

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jeff, my family, and my friends.  Of course I love to read, as well as shop, travel, and hike in the Great Smoky Mountains.  I also like to take my dog “Scout” (named after the main character in To Kill a Mockingbird) for walks at the greenway.

I hope you will stop by the library to borrow books, find information, participate in activities, or simply relax with friends.

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. ~ Joseph Addison
