Bio

Hello Soddy Daisy Students,

Teaching is my passion, along with junking, hunting, hiking, gardening, and cooking. In 2003, I graduated from Alabama State University and began teaching at my high school alma mater in Prattville, Alabama. I taught at Prattville high school for eleven years, until my husband and I moved to the beautiful state of Tennessee. The greatest joy in my teaching career has been witnessing the academic growth and maturity of my freshmen. Teaching ninth grade students provides me with the unique perspective of what can happen when students and their parents stay focused on achieving an education. This year marks my fourth year at SDHS, and I cannot wait to see my first group of Soddy Daisy students march across the stage during the 2018 SDHS commencement ceremony. I currently teach ninth grade English in the Freshman Academy, and I really enjoy helping my students with the transition from middle school to high school. My philosophy is that every student can learn and that perfection is not necessarily the most critical component in successful growth.

Best Regards,

Mrs. D. Jackson
