Soddy Daisy High School

School History

Soddy Daisy was originally a coal mining community, during the Civil War, the towns sided with the North and even tried to secede from the Confederacy at one time. Many of the students that attend Soddy Daisy High School are products of those original founding families.

The present facility was built in 1983 and provides a commons area, offices, media center, classrooms, chorus room, band facility, engineering rooms and two gyms. The school also works in close conjunction with the Tennessee Valley Authority, since Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and Training Facility is nearby. TVA works with the school as a partner in Education, supporting our students in various ways.

SDHS encourages a strong college preparatory curriculum.
