After years of discussion, Soddy Daisy High School has a new track for the 2018-19 school year.

"This track project has been talked about up there at Soddy Daisy High School for over 10 years," said Hamilton County District 1 commissioner Randy Fairbanks.

After three years of serious talks, it's a reality. Everyone who will benefit from the new track especially our sports team!

Our first event on the new track was an all day event, we hosted the TSSAA Regional Pentathlon and Decathlon.

Unified Track Meet 

Soddy Daisy High hosted the 2019 Regional Unified Track Meet. Soddy Daisy took first place in 2 events and placed second in three events, thus advancing the Soddy Daisy Unified Team to State Champs in Murfreesboro during Spring Fling! East Hamilton High took first place overall team scores. Soddy Daisy High took second place overall.

Soddy Daisy High School has been in existence since 1937 with a rich history and tradition of excellence.  Soddy Daisy High recognizes that quality learning is a cooperative effort involving staff, students, parents, and the community.  The high school values risk-taking as a valuable part of learning and provide opportunities to apply knowledge in real-life situations.

"To quote Don Galer, Continuous improvement is impossible without continuous innovation,” said Steven Henry, principal of Soddy Daisy High. 

“This year, our staff adopted this philosophy along with the motto Where students come first, and we believe this shift in thinking has been a major part of our success.”

ChattCycle Video Game 

ChattCycle Video Game Challenge Winner
Have you ever wondered how a video game is created and what steps are involved? Or maybe you know someone who is studying for a college degree in video game design? Well, for Soddy Daisy High School seniors, creating a video game is a concept they have a head start in when they decided to compete in PEF's Arcade Architects this past spring.

Amazon Future Engineer Program

Soddy Daisy High School has been chosen to participate in Amazon's Future Engineer Program! The students participating this spring were interviewed and featured on News Channel 12! Click here to learn more!

Amazon’s funding provides preparatory lessons, tutorials, professional development for teachers, fully sequenced and paced digital curriculum for students, and live online support every day of the week for both teachers and students," the Amazon spokesperson added. "All students participating in this program will receive a free membership to AWS Educate, which provides them with free access to computing power in the AWS Cloud for their coding projects and content to learn about cloud computing."
