Mobile Computer Lab Guidelines:

  • Reserve mobile lab carts through the Media Center.
  • Carts and keys can be picked up after 7:05 am and must be returned by 2:10 pm. (Avoid heavy hall traffic.) A pair of students can transport the carts.
  • Carts and keys must be returned EACH DAY to the Media Center, even if a mobile lab is reserved for multiple days.
  • Mobile labs will not be distributed for use with a substitute teacher.
  • Plugin the cart, turn on the power switch on the side of the cart and press the power button on the inside right-hand corner of the cart. (Carts A, B, G, and H do not have an interior power button.)
  • The teacher should distribute equipment. Use a class roster with the teacher’s name, date, and block to record the number of the Chromebook assigned to each student.
  • Do not permit students to eat or drink while working with Chromebooks.
  • Monitor student use of Chromebooks and check for damage before returning equipment to carts. Any damage found, or any equipment not functioning properly, should be reported to the Media Center.
  • All Chromebooks must be accounted for prior to dismissing students from class. Be sure to lock the Chromebooks in the cart when not in use!
  • Chromebooks should be shut down, returned to the cart in number order, and plugged in properly to ensure the batteries charge for the next day.
